How to pick a great game name
A good name does three jobs at once: it tells players what kind of game they are about to play, it is easy to remember, and it is easy to find when someone searches for it. Use the generator to get a long list, then run your favorites through these quick checks.
1. Say the genre without saying the genre
"Silent Manor" sounds like horror. "Turbo Rally" sounds like racing. Players decide in a split second whether to click, so pick words that carry the mood: dark words for horror, fast words for racing, soft words for cozy games.
2. Keep it short
Two or three words is the sweet spot. Short names fit on a game card, look better on a thumbnail and are easier to share with friends. If you love a long name, keep it as a subtitle: "Hollow: The Ravenmoor Files".
3. Make it searchable
Before you commit, search the name on Google and on game stores. If a famous game already uses it, players will never find yours. Adding one unusual word ("Hushwood Hunt" instead of "Forest Hunt") is often enough to make it unique.
4. Read it out loud
If you stumble on it, so will your players. A name that is easy to say is a name people repeat in a Discord call or a video.
5. Test it on your thumbnail
Put the name on your game cover and look at it small, the way it appears in a list. If you cannot read it at a glance, shorten it.
Names that work: real games made on Arcade
Some names from creators on Arcade, and why they click:
- Dead Man's Gulch: a place name with a threat built in. You know it is a dark western before you read the description.
- Bunker Signal: 161.80: the number makes it feel like a real radio frequency, which fits a mystery game.
- Hushwood Hunt: an invented place plus an action word. Unique, short and easy to search.
- Monster Café Tycoon: mixes two ideas (monsters and a café) and says the genre (tycoon) right away.

1887. Trapped in the cursed Widow's Silver Mine, a lone prospector survives one horror after another to destroy the undead outlaw Black Jack Mortimer.

6 nights alone in a storm-swept lighthouse. Check bunker codes and audio clues from incoming calls, grant or deny access and survive until dawn.

Hunt a wendigo through a giant fog-shrouded forest. Stay quiet, upgrade your rifle through successful hits, and survive the creature stalking you.

Run a café where the customers are monsters. Serve, earn, invest in better equipment and hire staff.
